Giran Findlay Liu is a Chinese-Canadian director. His latest short film, Year of the Dragon, will have its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival. He is currently in pre-production on his next short film, Footsteps on the Ceiling, which goes to camera in December, and is developing his first feature film.

He creates humanistic character studies which use an austere cinematic style to challenge audiences, using silence and visual storytelling to explore difficult themes. His films have screened at festivals including the Toronto International Film Festival, Atlantic International Film Festival, Fantasia Film Festival, and the Future of Film Showcase.
